Most of those<br \/>\n      settings can also be found on the <a class=\"link\" href=\"\/en\/documentation\/program-reference\/ui-contents\/overtone-sliders\/#main_ui_sliders_toolbar\" title=\"The Overtone Sliders Toolbar\">toolbar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Fixatenoteslidersonscreen\"><\/a>Fixate note sliders on screen<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>If this setting is active, the note sliders are fixated on the screen and<br \/>\n      will stay in the same position regardless of how the time range of the<br \/>\nAnalyzer View is changed. In <span class=\"application\">VoceVista Video Pro<\/span> Free  Edition the<br \/>\n      sliders are always fixated on the screen.<br \/>\n      When the sliders are not fixated on the screen, each slider belongs<br \/>\n      to a specific time range of the recording, like the notes in a piece of music. This allows to represent an entire recording as<br \/>\n      a melody comprised of musical notes, which can also be exported as a MIDI<br \/>\n      file.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-NumberofOvertoneSliders\"><\/a>Number of Overtone Sliders<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This is the number of distinct sliders shown. Each slider can have a<br \/>\n      separate fundamental frequency. The number of sliders can only be changed through this control<br \/>\n      if the sliders are fixated on the screen. Otherwise, sliders can be added<br \/>\n      and deleted through the commands<br \/>\n      <span class=\"guimenu\">Tools<\/span> \u2192 <span class=\"guimenuitem\">Insert note slider at selection<\/span><br \/>\n        and<br \/>\n      <span class=\"guimenu\">Tools<\/span> \u2192 <span class=\"guimenuitem\">Delete note selected sliders<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-NoteSliderLabels\"><\/a>Note Slider Labels<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Shownotename\"><\/a>Show note name<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Show the name of a slider&#8217;s note, such as <span class=\"quote\">\u201c<span class=\"quote\">A3+12ct<\/span>\u201d<\/span>. The second part of the name shows the difference in cent between the exact pitch of the slider, and the named note on the piano.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Showfrequency\"><\/a>Show frequency<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Show the pitch of a slider&#8217;s frequency, such as <span class=\"quote\">\u201c<span class=\"quote\">220 Hz<\/span>\u201d<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Hidemiddlelabels\"><\/a>Hide middle labels<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>If this option is activated, the note name and frequency will only be<br \/>\n      shown for the fundamental, and for the highest displayed overtone, and<br \/>\n      the lowest displayed undertone of each slider.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Transparency\"><\/a>Transparency<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This option makes the sliders transparent so that the spectrogram<br \/>\n      underneath can still be seen. This can make it easier to position sliders<br \/>\n      accurately. The amount of transparency requires some experimentation for<br \/>\n      each situation. It can be adjusted here, but the transparency can also be<br \/>\n      adjusted through a slider on the status bar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Drawtemperednotes\"><\/a>Undertone octaves only<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This option will hide all undertones that are not an octave of the fundamental. This can be useful when constructing scales, where tones are used across many octaves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-1.6.4.11.5.7\"><\/a>Play top labels<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Checking this option will cause the highest visible overtone of each slider to be played together with the fundamental, when the fundamental is played by clicking on it. This can be used to play overtone melodies together with the fundamental.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-Snapping\"><\/a>Snapping<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>When moving a slider along the frequency axis while this option is<br \/>\n      enabled, the slider will snap to the nearest piano note or spectral peak.<br \/>\n      This behavior can be reversed when the ALT key is pressed while moving a<br \/>\n      slider (for more keyboard modifiers, including the possibility to snap to other sliders, refer to <a class=\"xref\" href=\"\/en\/documentation\/program-reference\/ui-contents\/overtone-sliders\/#table_sliders_keyboard\" title=\"Table\u00a03.4.\u00a0Overtone Slider Mouse Commands\">Table\u00a03.4, \u201cOvertone Slider Mouse Commands\u201d<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"variablelist\">\n<dl class=\"variablelist\">\n<dt><span class=\"term\">no snapping<\/span><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>\n                      The sliders can be moved freely.\n                  <\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"term\">snap to nearest musical note<\/span><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>\n                      The slider will snap to the frequency that represents the nearest note on the piano.\n                  <\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"term\">snap to nearest peak in spectrum<\/span><\/dt>\n<dd>\n<p>\nThe slider will snap<br \/>\n        to the nearest maximum in the spectrum. This allows to accurately<br \/>\n        measure the loudest frequencies in a recording.\n                  <\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-329-\"><\/a>Editing<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"titlepage\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<h4 class=\"title\">\n<a name=\"id-1.6.4.11.7.2\"><\/a>highlight note borders<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Checking this option will draw the note borders with high contrast, which can be useful when editing note sliders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"prevNextLinks bottom\"><span class=\"prevLink\"><a href=\"\/en\/documentation\/program-reference\/options\/scale-settings\/\">\u2190 3.2.7.
